Liposuction
Despite a reasonable level of fitness, adequate nutrition, and overall good health, some people may still be frustrated by areas of stubborn fat. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. George Pope offers liposuction in Orlando to help men and women address these trouble spots. While it’s not a weight loss solution, liposuction is an excellent way to fine-tune your contours.

What Is Liposuction?
One of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures in America, liposuction sculpts the body by removing areas of undesirable fat. It can be safely performed on most areas of the body such as the:
- Abdomen
- Thighs
- Hips
- Upper arms
- Neck and under the chin
- Back
- Chest
- Cheeks
When you meet with Dr. Pope for a lipo consultation in Orlando, he’ll gather information on your medical history, medications you’re taking, and your goals to determine if it’s right for you. Some patients decide that SculpSure®, a nonsurgical fat reduction treatment, would be a better choice for them. He often performs liposuction to enhance the results of other cosmetic procedures including tummy tucks and facelifts.
George Pope, MD, FACS
Dual Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon
Respected by patients and other physicians, Dr. Pope has been serving the Orlando area for over 30 years. Whether you're considering enhancement of your face, breasts, or body, he has the training, talent, and experience necessary to achieve the attractive results you want.
How Is Liposuction Performed?
On the day of the surgery, Dr. Pope will use a surgical pen to mark you with a series of circles and lines indicating where fat will be removed. This will ensure that both of you are in agreement about what will occur during surgery. The procedure itself can last from 1 to 5 hours depending on the amount of fat being removed. In most cases, he uses general anesthesia; however, he may use local anesthesia for small areas or touch-ups.
Dr. Pope removes the excess fat using tumescent liposuction. With this technique, the fat is injected with a large volume of tumescent solution, which contains an anesthetic, epinephrine, and salt water, to control pain and bleeding. The solution also makes the fat firm so it’s easier to remove. Next, Dr. Pope creates tiny incisions near the targeted areas and inserts a long, thin tube called a cannula. He uses the cannula to break up the fatty deposits before they are suctioned out.
How Long Will it Take to See My Final Liposuction Results?
You’ll likely see a difference in treated areas just after surgery, but it generally takes about 4 to 6 weeks for swelling to subside and your new contours to be revealed.
How Much Does Liposuction Cost?
The cost of liposuction in the Orlando area depends on several factors. We will provide you with a personalized quote after your consultation. Your pricing will include all fees and routine pre- and post-op care for a full year. Pope Plastic Surgery is proud to offer financing with CareCredit® to help make liposuction even more affordable.
